"Islamic" not necessarily having Islamic characteristics

With the reawakening of Islamic revivalism since the 80's, Muslims proudly started to associate themselves with anything "Islamic". Islamic University, Islamic parties, Islamic organizations, Islamic Banks, Islamic states etc began to be founded.
But are they all truly "Islamic" in its implementation and dealings or merely "Islamic" in terms of its philosophy and vision?
It is quite frustrating that when you are dealing with anything having the "Islamic" adjective, be they Islamic Banks or Islamic University or what, you tend to feel that you are not welcomed and far from being well served and appreciated by the staff, as compared to when dealing with non-Islamic organizations. There is nothing wrong with the organization or its philosophy, but the people, its staff do not reflect or adhere to the true teachings of Islam and the philosophy of their organization they are working in. They are just like most people who lack the spirit of Islam in spite of working in such Islamic organizations.
When are we going to change so that anything bearing the term "Islamic" would symbolise "excellence", "compassion", "understanding" ... as enshrined in the beauty of Islam itself?
Let us remind ourselves, myself the most, that by being Muslims we must excel in everything surpassing the non-Muslims. And by working in the so-called "Islamic" organizations/parties/institutions, then the burden to prove the beauty of Islam is doubled if not multiplied. If you can't behave as a good Muslim, then better not work in Islamic organizations for you only would tarnish the good name of Islamic organization. Even by not working in the organization, you have already tarnished the good name of true Muslim.
For some people, upon feeling very humiliated when dealing with these so-called "Islamic organizations", demanded that these organizations should strip away the islamic adjective from its name for they do not reflect the Islamic characteristics. What a shame!
