Muslims more numerous than Catholics

It appears in ABC News that the Vatican acknowledges Islam has surpassed Roman Catholicism as world's largest religion. As for Muslims, it comes as no surprise. The Prophet s.a.w. had long time ago forewarned this phenomenon and cautioned that, in spite of the fact the Muslims one day would be numerous, yet they were without quality. In a Prophetic tradition narrated from Thawban r.a., the Prophet s.a.w. mentioned about the disease of 'wahn' that would befall the later generations of the Ummah (perhaps our time now) when we were numerous in number. The disease which the Prophet s.a.w. himself defined it as 'love of the world and fear death'. May Allah forbid us.
