Imam Zaid Shakir's Answer to a Salafi brother

A friend of mine, Sidi Isa forwarded me a link to Imam Zaid Shakir's response to a Salafi brother whom he had been confronted with in a gathering. As always, our Salafi brothers, or more accurately the Wahhabis, wherever you find them, are very aggressive and confrontational, far from emulating the footsteps of the real Salafis of the early first three generations of Muslim Ummah. As Imam Zaid mentions in his answer which I wholeheartedly concur, discussion and debates with the Wahhabis are only a sheer waste of time. I wish I could spend more time doing other beneficial things rather than getting bogged down in the endless debates with these people.

Nonetheless, one ought to do something with this million-dollar-petrol-sponsored movement that is becoming too active in promoting their "isolated opinions" (if not deviant), challenging the opinions of the majority of true Ulamas' who were piously followed by generation after generation of the Ummah (al-sawad al-a'zam). They further put the general masses -- the 'rakyat jelata'-- into unnecessary state of utter confusion. La hawla wa la quwwata illa bi-Llah!
